- Who We Serve
Each week, PactSafe will discuss and post about specific standardized agreements and how they can be turned into one-click contracts. Last week, we covered Stock Option Grants and NDAs. This week, we're focusing on the Offer Letter: what it is, why its typically signing method isn't ideal, and how it can be turned into a one click contract on the PactSafe platform.
It is like any other contract, but it is presented in a way that allows the person signing it to do so by simply clicking on it. With very few exceptions, any contract can be signed with a single click on a website, from a phone, in an email - anywhere you meet your customers digitally, you can deliver a 1-click contract.
On the surface, it is a sign of new beginnings, the goal after a long stretch of coffee meetings and LinkedIn scouting. In the practical sense, it is a commitment by both employer and employee that outlines the future relationship between the two: Responsibilities, reporting structure, compensation, all rolled up into a single document.
Both employee and employer sign an offer letter.
An offer letter is traditionally executed in person, but more often it is sent via email and a signed document is requested in return.
Sending via email does ensure that both sender / recipient have a copy of the doc for their records, but it also leads to processing delays and a lack of a centralized source of truth for all documents of this type on the part of the employer / HR dept.
The traditional signature block, ever common in the course of business, is often required on contracts of this type when employees are entering into a new arrangement. Transforming it into a one click contract is as simple as dropping the signature block.
Sending an offer letter via one-click acceptance allows for acceptance on-the-go for terms that have, more than likely, already been previously negotiated and agreed upon. This could be a fantastic use of PactSafe for HR tech or industries with high turnover/hiring needs.
1-click contracts are absolutely binding. Also known as “clickwraps,” courts have enforced millions of contracts accepted by a single click. PactSafe’s platform was built to help ensure 1-click contracts are created in compliance with all the best practices established in 1000’s of court cases over the past 20+ years.
